About Brian
Brian C. Schaller has over a dozen years of experience bringing a business-focused mentality to his work. This allows his clients to rely on him to give practical advice to move forward with business initiatives and to close deals.
His practice focuses on the worlds of entertainment, real money gambling/gaming, entertainment, video gaming, social media, and retail. In those industries, he advises on matters in three distinct areas: Technology Transactions, Marketing and Advertising, and Privacy.
Brian serves as an integral part of InfoLawGroup’s artificial intelligence (AI) practice, utilizing his years of experience advising on cutting edge technologies in consumer privacy realms. In addition, Brian has recently focused deeply on real money gaming/gambling compliance including for online casinos, sports betting, skill gaming, esports and fantasy sports. He is also recognized as a go-to attorney for work related to communicating with consumers, e.g. calling/texting (TCPA, state mini-TCPAs, carrier requirements) and emailing (CAN-SPAM).
Brian drafts and negotiates a broad variety of agreements ranging from technology (e.g. SaaS agreements) to talent, music and influencer agreements. His marketing and advertising work extends to brand integration, marketing to children (e.g. COPPA compliance), promotions (e.g. sweepstakes and contests), marketing (signage, POS) and social media.
Brian is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (“IAPP”) and is a certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP).

Negotiating, structuring and drafting licensing agreements related to production, promotions, music, and technology
Counseling clients on the collection, use and sharing of personal information; and drafting compliant privacy policies
Advise clients on compliance with new state privacy laws (e.g. California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)
Helping clients comply with the E.U.'s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including negotiating data processing agreements and responding to data subject requests
Drafting and advising on social media policies and guidelines related to testimonials and endorsements
Performing complex legal research and analysis of statutes, regulations and industry practices regarding privacy, educational technology (Ed-Tech), connected televisions, and biometrics
Coordinating legal aspects of multi-jurisdictional and multi-national promotions and drafting associated Official Rules
Conducting legal review of promotional copy related to sweepstakes, contests, promotions and rewards programs, while working closely with clients to meet their business needs
